Buses
Empresa Municipal de Transporte (EMT) – The
buses Company of Madrid – has and important
service of buses all over the city. Most of
the bus lines work daily from 6:00 to 23:00
, with intervals of 10-15 minutes. At night
time Madrid has some nocturnal buses (popularly
know as “búhos” [owls]) that depart
from the city centre at Plaza de Cibeles.

Madrid has one of the better undergrounds
of Europe. The underground is fastest way to
move in the city.
Currently, Madrid 's underground has twelve
lines. Some of these lines are growing and
being improved.
The underground works from 6:00 to 2:00 .
Children less than 4 years do not have to pay
the fare.

Cercanías Renfe
The train service Cercanías of RENFE
(Spanish railway company) has a total of 13
lines, that travel throughout the whole province
of Madrid .
This service works from 6:00 to 24:00. Trains
depart every 15-30 minutes. The fares depend
on the distance.

Taxi
Madrid has more than 15,000 taxis. This vehicles
are easy recognised by their color (white with
a red stripe). In every train station, airport,
bus station there are taxi stops, that can
be notice for a blue signal with a white “T” inside.
