John H. Elliott and Luis Gómez-Mejía,
new Doctors Honoris Causa.
Universidad Carlos
III de Madrid has awarded as Doctors
Honoris Causa professors Sir John H.
Elliott and Luis Gómez-Mejía.
The ceremony took place on January 25th,
as part of the Day of the University, and
was chaired by the Rector, professor Daniel
Peña. The Official Ceremony was
attended by the Ambassador of the United
Kingdom, Denise Holt, and the Rector of
the Universidad San Pablo CEU, Alfonso
Bullón de Mendoza y Gómez
de Valugera.
Historian (specialized
in Spanish history) Sir John Huxtable
Elliott, Emeritus Professor of Modern
History at the Oxford University, was
introduced by David García Hernán,
professor of Modern History at Universidad
Carlos III de Madrid, who pronunced the
laudatio titled “Roads discovered
by John Elliott”
Luís Gómez-Mejía,
Economist specialized in the field of Human
Resource, is a professor of Management
at Arizona State University and President
of the Iberoamerican Academy of Management.
His laudatio speech was pronunced by Isabel
Gutiérrez, Professor of Management
at the Department of Business Administration
of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and
Vice-Rector for Undergraduate Studies.
