The Universidad Carlos
III de Madrid ("UC3M") was founded
in 1989 with the objective of offering an
efficient, high quality public service that
would contribute to the implementation of the Right to Education as set out in
the Spanish Constitution. UC3M pursues a model of educational integration within
the global, unifying concept of Science and Culture. The philosophy that has
guided UC3M since its beginnings is one of creating fully responsible, free-thinking
people, sensitive to social problems and committed to an idea of progress based
on freedom, justice and tolerance.
These are some of the University's main features:
- Modern University Degrees which are
flexible and interdisciplinary in order
to meet the scientific and technical
needs of today's society. The small class
groups allow a greater cooperation and
interaction between professors and students.
- The Faculty in the University Departments
is dedicated full time to teaching, with
high standards for teaching and research.
- Special importance is given to the
post-graduate programs of Master and
PhD degrees. In the past academic years,
several PhD Programs were officially
awarded by the Minister of Education
and Science as High Quality Doctorates.
- The University is especially interested
in and supports the incorporation of
its graduates in the labour market by
promoting contact between the business
world and its students. This takes place
in the form of internships in companies
or public institutions when the students
are in their last year of study and is
coordinated through the SOPP.
- International interests of the University
take the form of exchange programs for
students or faculty with universities
from other countries, thus establishing
a flow of joint activities which are
especially important for graduate students
and researchers.
- The newspaper El Mundo performs a yearly ranking of the most demanded 50 undergraduate degrees in Spain, and makes a list of the best universities. For the fifth consecutive time, the Business Administration Degree at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid was ranked first. The MBA would like to congratulate the Department of Business Administration for this success.
